Top Travel Experiences Near Our Café in Manali

Mountain Brews Manali sits near the heart of town, which makes it an ideal starting point for exploring everything this extraordinary place has to offer. Here are our top recommendations for experiences within easy reach of the café.

Hadimba Devi Temple

A fifteen-minute walk through the cedar forest brings you to the ancient Hadimba Devi Temple, one of the most photographed landmarks in Himachal Pradesh. The temple’s pagoda-style wooden architecture dates back to 1553 and sits in a clearing of old cedar trees that feel almost sacred in their silence. Visit early morning when the light filters through the trees, then return to us for breakfast.

Old Manali

Cross the bridge over the Manalsu river and you enter Old Manali — a quieter, more bohemian part of town with narrow lanes, small guesthouses, and a relaxed traveller vibe. It is a lovely hour-long wander, especially in the late afternoon.

Solang Valley

About 14 km north of Manali, Solang Valley is the adventure hub. In winter, it is a ski slope; in summer, it offers paragliding, zorbing, and cable car rides with panoramic Himalayan views. It takes about 30–40 minutes by taxi. Start your day here with a good breakfast at Mountain Brews before the drive up.

Rohtang Pass

At 3,978 metres above sea level, Rohtang Pass is one of the most accessible high-altitude mountain passes in India. The drive from Manali takes about two hours. The views of glaciers, snowfields, and distant peaks are genuinely unforgettable. Note that Rohtang requires a permit (available online) and is best visited between June and October. Fuel up with our Mountain Breakfast Platter before you go.

Beas River

The Beas River runs right through Manali and offers excellent white-water rafting opportunities downstream at Pirdi. After a day on the river — exhilarating, drenching, and unforgettable — there is nothing quite like arriving back at Mountain Brews for a warm Walnut Cake and a hot chocolate.

The Cedar Forest Walk

Perhaps the most peaceful thing you can do in Manali is simply walk through the Dhungri Forest Reserve. Ancient cedar trees tower overhead, the air smells of resin and cold water, and you may encounter nothing more exciting than a Himalayan bird singing in the canopy. Take a coffee to go from us, walk slowly, and breathe.

We hope Manali treats you as well as it has treated us. Come back and tell us your stories — we love hearing them.
